Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson set a new record for assists after City’s 4-0 win over Newcastle on Saturday night.

It was Ederson’s third assist of this season, which according to stats provider Opta is also a Premier League record in a single campaign.

With that assist for Omar Marmoush to open the floodgates, Manchester City’s Ederson has become the top-assisting goalkeeper in Premier League history with six — he was level with Paul Robinson on five before today.

The City goalkeeper has three assists this season alone, the same as Martin Odegaard, Kaoru Mitoma and Cody Gakpo — and one more than Luis Diaz, Phil Foden and Pedro Neto.
